Derek Francis serves as the Manager of Counseling Services for Minneapolis Public Schools. He is an experienced cross-cultural counselor, educator, and trainer. With a passion for creating ASCA based counseling and support strategies for schools, organizations, and individuals, Derek focuses on supporting those from underrepresented backgrounds.
Dr. Andre D. Spencer is the Superintendent, Manor Independent School District, and Chair of NABSE Superintendent Council. He previously served as an executive superintendent overseeing schools in Queens South (District 27, 28, and 29). He worked alongside superintendents and the Executive Director of the Borough Office to improve achievement outcomes for all scholars to ensure that they contribute to the common good in our society. Dr. Spencer strongly believes that every scholar should receive an equitable education that will prepare them for college, a career, and life.
Juan E. Cabrera became superintendent of the El Paso Independent School District on Sept. 3, 2013. Immediately prior to joining EPISD, Cabrera served as a school law attorney and advisor to school districts.
He also serve on the Commissioner of Education’s Superintendent's Cabinet and is a Founder and immediate past President of the Texas Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents (TALAS) and the Texas Urban Council of Superintendents.
Additionally, Cabrera also serves on the Executive Committee of the Council of Great City Schools, which is the nation’s leading advocate for large urban school systems and COSN’s Empowered Superintendent’s Committee and on the Superintendent’s Advisory Committee of The College Board, New Tech Network, and Renaissance Learning.
